Bio:
Gunnar Fohlin (1924–1998) was a Swedish painter, printmaker and craftsman. He worked with both figurative and abstract expressions and used a variety of techniques including drawing, gouache, printmaking and painting on paper. Many of his works reveal an experimental approach to materials where colour, texture and gestural brushwork play a central role. Fohlin exhibited regularly in Sweden during the second half of the twentieth century and formed part of the broader modernist movement in Scandinavian art.
